Frustration

For two sides in blue and white stripes tonight. Racing lead 2-1 against Arsenal thanks to a double strike from Claudio López, until Lucas Valdemarín pulled a point out of the hat for the visitors with five minutes remaining, as a result of which Racing have 6 points from 7 matches, and will remain behind Independiente in the league table no matter what their great rivals do against first-placed San Lorenzo on Sunday. In tonight’s other match, Nueva Chicago hosted Belgrano, and beat them 2-0 with goals from Ariel Nahuelpan and Mariano Donda.

Argentina’s Under-17s, meanwhile, played Venezuela knowing that a win would ensure qualification to the Under-17 World Cup, but could only draw, meaning they’ll have to wait for now. They’re third in the table (top four qualify) on 7 points from four matches, with Peru to come in their last game.
