thanks for the link… i’m sure sam is quite knowledgeable and his enthusiasm for our version of the world game is commendable, but to paraphrase from Jerry Maguire:
You LOST me at Lavezzi… a classic Argentinian No. 10. That is so wrong it is laughable. Lavezzi might be quicksilver fast and tenacious, but he is not a classic no. 10 for the following reasons:
1. he doesn’t pick his head up when he plays w/ ball at feet
2. doesn’t make his teammates better and is a
3. completely selfish player.
I could ramble about this for hours, but just wanted to say that to call him a classic no. 10 is a disservice to : maradona, bochini and the countless players that have graced the Argentina kit.
Well, Sam is me, so thanks for the feedback. I have to admit I was trusting the Argentine media as far as Lavezzi is concerned – these are the terms they were talking of him in when I was there in December and January. Since he wasn’t playing (due to his transfer saga to River) in the Summer Tournament I didn’t get to see him for myself, sadly. Or not so sadly, from what you’ve said!
