Bouncing back

The pressure won’t need turning up any further in La Bombonera tomorrow, but just in case, San Lorenzo have twisted the screw a little tighter by bouncing back from defeat to Estudiantes last week, beating the other La Plata side, Gimnasia, by a goal to nil. A lesser side, after losing their unbeaten record, might have caved in, but a fine goal from Gastón Fernández (him again) in the 17th minute, and a solid team performance, was enough to take Los Santos back to the top of the table. Boca, three points behind, now need to win tomorrow to maintain the joint leadership.
