At last!

Rubén celebrates at last

Marco Rubén (second from left in the row of River shirts) finally had a decent match for River on Saturday – and it came against the club they bought him from, Rosario Central. Away from home in El Gigante del Arroyito, River won 2-0 thanks to two strikes from Rubén and not a lot else. Los Millonarios didn’t play well, but they won, and the dream of an unlikely title is kept alive. River played most of the match with ten men, after full-back Cristian Villagra was sent off in the 29th minute. The result leaves River fourth, two behind Estudiantes (who they have a game in hand over), three behind Boca and five behind San Lorenzo (both of whom play tomorrow).
