All quiet on the southern front

Very little is happening in the Argentine footballing world today. Juan Román Riquelme has been speaking to the media in defence of Boca manager Miguel Russo, who took him off midway through the second half of Boca’s draw with Racing. Racing caretaker Miguel Micó has been praising the eleven who claimed that draw, and stating that this coming weekend he’ll be fielding an unchanged team. And Daniel Passarella will have to make some injury-enforced changes to River’s team for their upcoming match with Colón (part of the eighth weekend matches which were called off due to storms in Santa Fé), whilst keeping basically the same core who played in Saturday’s win over Central. When team news fills the top three items in Olé, you know it’s a quiet day…
