A lazy Sunday afternoon

Just kick back and relax…

Well, not lazy. But it was far less heated than the last time Racing and Independiente met in the league – today’s match actually lasted the whole 90 minutes. Racing went out strongly from the start and took the lead through Facundo Sava in only the sixth minute, after which they settled in to try and get what more they could on the counter.

Independiente equalised around the half hour mark through Guillermo Rodriguez, after which Independiente got away with several defensive errors (it says here), but held on. The match was played in a very heated atmosphere and Diego Crosa was sent off for the hosts a minute into stoppage time. Fortunately, there was no trouble in the stands.
