Ezequiel Lavezzi, who was the subject of the Argentine summer’s most tedious transfer saga in January before eventually not moving from San Lorenzo to River – good decision, as it turned out - could now be going to Boca Juniors. A US$10 million offer from a Ukrainian club (either Dynamo Kiev or Shakhtar Donetsk, it’s thought) didn’t appeal to the player, who only wants to leave Argentina for one of Europe’s big leagues – and reported interest from Serie A sides Atalanta and Napoli hasn’t yet borne fruit. San Lorenzo are adamant having not sold to River, they won’t be selling him to Boca either. Boca, though, may soon need a replacement for Rodrigo Palacio. Could it happen?
