Two small changes

There have been two changes to this weekend’s schedule, for security reasons. River Plate’s visit to Tigre has been brought forward from the time published here yesterday, and will now be played at 11am on Sunday, whilst Arsenal vs. Racing also has a changed kickoff time, and will now started at 18:30 on Sunday.

Elswhere, Diego Maradona’s been interviewed by Spanish daily Marca and shocked absolutely no-one by stating that, as many observers thought he might, Fernando Gago has struggled to reproduce his performances for Boca since arriving in Madrid back in January.

And there’s a long-awaited return to scoring important goals from Fernando Cavenaghi, whose career looked to be heading into the wilderness when he swapped River for Spartak Moscow a few years ago. Now playing for Bordeaux in France, he scored twice – including an 93rd-minute winner – in his side’s 3-2 UEFA Cup victory over Tampere United of Finland. Alright, so it shouldn’t have been that difficult a tie for his side. But the goals are starting to flow again…
