The Copa Libertadores semi-finals begin on Tuesday night. The final will have one set of participants from a relatively unheralded nation; either Club América will become only the second ever Mexican finalists (after Cruz Azul lost to Boca in the 2001 tournament), or LDU Quito will give Ecuador her third ever representation in the final, and first for exactly a decade (Barcelona de Guayaquil, on two ocassions, were the previous flag-fliers for the north-western nation). The other semi is a clash of clubs from the two big nations: six-times winners and defending champions Boca Juniors of Argentina take on Fluminense of Brazil. Regular HEGS readers and Argentine football-followers who want to know a little more about Boca’s opponents should check back here tomorrow, but read on for the kick off times, if that’s what you’re looking for…
Kick off times are given in Argentine time, regardless of which country the match is taking place in. Add four hours for British Summer Time (both matches kick off at around 2am the ‘following day’ in Britain).

My support goes out to Boca all the way. It will be interesting to Roman & Gang against Manchester United at the FIFA World Club Championship.
Not sure that’s quite how I’ll be looking at it John… of more interest for me will be seeing Carlos Tevez playing against his boyhood club for the first time. Particularly since none of Carlitos’s United team-mates will be taking the match remotely as seriously as he will…
