It's a good job, perhaps that Seba isn't here just now! That Racing game was officially pants. I wasn't too downhearted by the Lanus result, but to lose against that Huracan side, who were pretty terrible themselves, is a disgrace. It was one of the worst games I have seen for a while, from both sides.
What's the news on the striker situation? I thought Campora was supposed to be joining, now I hear it's Peirone? We need someone to score whatever chances there might be created, though Gonzalez could be good if his confidence isn't shattered by these continual disasters. But I wasn't impressed by anybody other than him on the pitch last night : (
The only good thing is that Independiente were poor as well. Tucuman should have won this game, they were far better. As usual, Independiente luck carries them through.
I don't expect a good game on Sunday, probably another 0-0 draw would be the best Racing could hope for, and start the season again afresh in week 4.
Player of the week was Villar of GELP! It's amazing to see someone turn a match so completely almost on their own, not just his goal, but his all round commitment and dragging up the level from those around him. I still think GELP will escape.
Also impressed with Banfield, who should have won, even with ten men. Civelli and Erviti will cause River problems next week, that should be a very exciting game.
Lanus seem to be playing the prettiest football, Tigre are doing okay too but I expect them to fall soon.
Biggest disappointment so far must be Estudiantes. We could have really done with them beating two of Racing's promedio rivals early on, but they seemed clueless in both games in defence. Boselli and Gata look like becoming a good partnership, but it's the worst defending I've seen from them for a while.
