Lucas Lobos, with two goals, was indeed the driving wheel in that surprisingly one-sided victory away to Monterrey on the weekend–but his club is Tigres, not Pumas (and it was a big win for that struggling club, coming in their clasico regiomontana against perennial local rivals; there was some additional salt rubbed in some wounds there as well; you’ll recall I mentioned earlier that in the buildup to the match, Monterrey manager Richard La Volpe, another Argentine and never one to hide his views, declared he’d rather go shopping than watch Tigres play; and in the event, Tigres, led by Lobos, played wonderfully–and very watchably). Also, you left out another Argentine scorer in Mexico, the defender Zamolgilny, currently on a nice run of form, who scored on a strong header for the second week in a row in a landslide win for resurgent Tecos (UAG).
