Beg your pardon Seba, you're quite right. I had a hell of a time finding that. Eventually had to resort to Olé - finding any of the relevant regulations on the AFA's site is an absolute bastard of a job!

Sam...I think Tigre would have the advantage if every team finish equal in points AND goal-difference AND goals scored in this playoffs.

Their advantage for having the best record in the face-to-face with Boca and San Lorenzo will only play a part if the three teams are tied in EVERYTHING.

Say three draws (with the same number of goals scored by each team).

Or if something like this happens:

San Lorenzo 1 - 0 Tigre

San Lorenzo 0 - 1 Boca

Boca 0 - 1 Tigre

I'm not 100% certain of this, but I would say I'm 94% sure! haha!

Actually, no I hadn't! If the Family Fortunes survey had asked me to name a cyclist, I would only have been able to come up with Lance Armstrong, mainly because he dated Sheryl Crow.
IMO, riding bikes is something more interesting to do than to watch...

Thanks for that Seba, it's going up in a proper article tomorrow morning (got to give the weekend scores some time at the top of the homepage).

Matthew, you read right - and have thus already answered Littlekeep's question (welcome to HEGS by the way). As I said in the preview during the week, if teams finish the 'mini-league' level on points, it will be decided by the results between those sides during the Apertura. So Boca would have the advantage over San Lorenzo, were those two to be tied, but Tigre, who beat both Boca and San Lorenzo, would take the title otherwise. And no, I didn't watch Godoy vs. Central. I was a bit exhausted from just having watched Boca vs. Colón and Argentinos vs. San Lorenzo simultaneously whilst doing the updates on here, to tell the truth.

And had you really not heard of Chris Hoy six months ago?

It's San Lorenzo v. Tigre at Velez on Wednesday (Boca = Team C, what did I tell you??!).

The thing is that they have set up the fixtures regardless of the outcome of the first match.

So it's San Lorenzo v. Tigre on Wednesday at Velez.

Boca v. San Lorenzo at Racing on Saturday and if San Lorenzo win both matches there'll be no need to play Boca v. Tigre, which is set for Tuesday 23rd also at Racing.

In my opinion, AFA got it wrong (for a change!!!).

Yep, once again my social life is being decided in an AFA office thousands of miles away :-)

By the way, did you watch Godoy Cruz-Central? Central looked truly hopeless, even worse than Racing's recent performances. Celaya came off the bench but couldn't do anything. I spent the match hoping no-one would score, as a draw would've been the best result for Racing, but at least Central are still three points behind us, and hopefully players will leave Tomba in January and put them back in trouble.

18-year old debutant Alaniz played a good game in attack for Godoy Cruz until he was injured. Aguirre scored the winner for Tomba with his bald head.

Oh, and another thing, anyone reckon that Tigre have a better chance in a three-team play-off than a two-team one? If Boca hadn't made it, I'd really fancy San Lorenzo in a one-off game against Tigre, which could've gone to extra time and pens if level. But there will be no extra time or pens in these games, and if I read it write, if things finish level, Tigre will be champions by virtue of having beaten the other two in the regular season.

It's all about ifs, this season. IF it hadn't rained that Saturday night, San Lorenzo might have lost to Huracan; IF Lanus hadn't tossed away two points against Banfield in a game they should have won, it would've been a four-team play-off; IF Mouche hadn't scored that late Boca winner against Banfield they'd be out of it; IF they hadn't had so many injuries they'd *probably* be champions; and IF Tigre had beaten Racing, as most teams seem capable of doing these days, THEY would now be champions...

Who would not find this fascinating? A far better use of a Sunday night than watching some cyclist I'd barely heard of six months ago pick up a model of a 1950's TV Camera after winning a few cycling races that took place while I was at work...
