A weekend off

I’m in Manchester for a couple of nights this weekend, sorting out some final plans for my upcoming trip to Mexico. What this means is that there won’t be any immediate write-ups of Friday and Saturday’s major matches; to wit, the Sudamericano Sub 20 group stage game between Argentina and Peru in Maturín, Venezuela on Friday evening, and Saturday’s superclásico in Mar del Plata. I’ll be back on Sunday evening, with a full retrospective on the weekend.

Argentina 2-1 Perú. Cristaldo and Salvio the scorers.

    Independiente 1-0 San Lorenzo. Montenegro.

Saviola wants out of Real Madrid.

Maradona won’t have Ruggeri as his assistant manager.

  2. Johnny says:

Boca 2 River 1. Nice comeback from a 1-0 deficit and a man down. Battaglia sent off in the first period. Both goals from Jesus Datolo. An inspired Boca performance. Nice efforts from Datolo and Morel Rodriguez in particular. Noir created problems with his speed after coming on for Mouche. No Roman, no Palacio, no Palermo, no Ibarra.
