In what would have been the site’s top story for the last 24 hours had Juan Román Riquelme not provided us with a bigger headline-grabber, Estudiantes huffed and puffed against the Ecuadorian champions Deportivo Quito, and eventually lost the match with six minutes to go to a Leiber Preciado goal. The defeat, combined with the side’s previous poor form, has led on Wednesday to Leonardo Astrada resigning his position as Estudiantes boss. It’s the second managerial change of the week, incidentally – on Monday Gimnasia de Jujuy boss Omar Labruna also quit. For the goal from the Quito vs Estudiantes match, step this way…
