Can someone please explain to me why Boca and River are always awarded a wild card for the South American Cup?

    Thanks,

  2. TV and marketing rights.

You are aware that that’s the Copa Sudamericana, and this is the Copa Libertadores though, right? No-one’s given any byes anywhere in the Libertadores (with the exceptions of Nacional and Sao Paulo into the quarters this year due to the Mexican clubs pulling out).
