Copa Sudamericana 2009 – Tigre 2 – 1 San Lorenzo: the goals

Tuesday night saw the last pre-season match for two of the Primera División’s teams, but for once perhaps we’d better not make fun of the Copa Sudamericana. It serves its purpose after all, and this was a richly deserved first-ever continental tie for Tigre, albeit against domestic rivals. They adapted to their new surroundings rapidly: 2-0 up after nine minutes. San Lorenzo got one back before half time but the end result gives Tigre a great chance of reaching the competition proper in a few weeks’ time. You can watch the goals right here.

Copa Sudamericana preliminary round first leg, Tuesday 18th August 2009: Tigre 2 – 1 San Lorenzo de Almagro

With a new season starting, I shall point out that as I always try to do for continental matches, I’ve used the goal video uploaded by the quite magnificent Futbolizados, a one-man Spanish-language website covering the game across South America (with a focus on Argentina, Ecuador and Colombia). If you read Spanish, you should pay attention to this site.
