Confirmed Argentina starting lineup vs Peru

Argentina’s starting XI for the crucial World Cup qualifier against Peru kicks off at 7pm on Saturday (11pm UK time), and the starting eleven is exactly the same as the one manager Diego Maradona has used in training for most of the week. Newcastle winger Jonás Gutiérrez is at right back due to the injury to Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta; Rolando Schiavi and Gabriel Heinze will, with questionable wisdom, be the central defensive pairing, but at left back at least there’s some sense, with Liverpool’s Emiliano Insúa joining club mate Javier Mascherano in the side. And Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuaín will at long, long last become a full Argentina international. Raymond Domenech’s French side won well earlier, but no doubt he’ll be feeling deeply disappointed.

    Exhilarating match.

    Finally, they show some guts.

This may very well be the match that leads them to the Final, never mind the Finals.

    Congrats. Finally.

ugh the way things are going if it took 93 minutes to win against peru, it will take 90 minutes to lose to uruguay. then again, uruguay only won it with a dubious penalty gifted as the last play of their match too.. It’s the same story over again, argentina’s fate is in their own hands, diego is now just a 90-minute public speaker.

It never fails, the buenos aires “temporal” is like clockwork. 8pm. torrential rains for the rest of the night. Sunrise next morning will be just as amazing. peach skies in the muggy heat.
