i actually hope arsenal collapse rather than godoy cruz. there’s too many ugly kits with la nueva seguros sponsorship in primera this year jajaja. grondona’s team is 5million bux richer already with jara’s sale, eh?

This is unbelieveable :-(
Without De Oliveira, the score could have been 7-2. Ayala being outrun by Jara for the first Arsenal goal set the pattern – Racing’s defence was so slow it made Jara look like Usain Bolt. And this three at the back just seems to leave huge gaps when the wide players – are they midfielders, are they wingbacks? – get caught upfield on opposition counter attacks. It was so easy for Arsenal to pick us off time and again. A horrible match. I wasn’t too downhearted after the Colón games because we know they’re a good side, but Arsenal are not a good side, certainly not one that will ever challenge at the top.
Of course, it’s only Ayala’s first game, but it isn’t going to get any easier, he has to get back to speed quickly and not keep getting embarrassed by average players like Jara.

The two promoted sides are better than this. It’s back to hoping that Godoy Cruz will collapse, somehow we can stagger in ahead of preferably Central but GELP if not, and hope for the best in La Promo.
Not a good night, I’m sorry I stayed up.

ayala looks a little lost in his debut. arsenal finding spaces. racing’s goal came a bit too early.

Continued problems in the back for Boca. Swiss cheese would be an understatement. Munoz, despite supposed interest from many clubs in Europe, has been underwhelming, and he and Paletta seem to have no clue as to how to work together. Caceres is missed already. Ibarra is approaching fossil status and often seems to be going through the motions. Pato looks shellshocked. Battaglia not due back anytime soon.

On the other side, Riquelme looks pretty good but he can’t do it all, and the next most talented player, Gaitan, is in need of a quick dose of maturity and humility.

Plus, some of what’s his name’s substitutions have been, uh, curious.

After the fireworks of Lanús-Argentinos and Newell’s-Boca, what a terrible game River-Central is! They could play till tomorrow and not score at this rate. Every point is vital at the bottom, we need Gallardo on the pitch and a few free kicks for him to have a go at so Central don’t get any.
Is Ayala playing tonight? El Cilindro will be rocking if it’s his debut. Surely a big win and advantage over Central, but River need to win first! (Can’t believe I want both River and Independiente to win this week!)
