Luckily, Russo had read my previous post on here and dropped Ayala for Martínez, maybe Ayala was just a publicity signing because it’s not always the biggest names that work best in a team – in my mind, the names of Martínez and Aveldano are always linked together and it’s surely better to have two centre backs that know each other well.
Luguercio was superb, man of the match for me, though Hauche is also really good.

As for Boca – I thought after 15 minutes they were going to win easily, and they still dominated possession for long periods. The game could’ve gone either way but Racing rode the luck, particularly that Insua shot/cross that sped past Palermo’s toe.

A relaxing evening tonight, though it would help if Banfield beat Tucumán. Monday night looks big though, I’m worried about Chaca getting points against San Lorenzo in their current state.

Right, to add to the wonderful news you shared with our friends here at HEGS, I have to say that right after the match ended, I went over to Felipe’s crib and, in the middle of his sleep, he raised both his arms and shook a little. Then he went back to sleep, but he made sure his dad new he was celebrating a crucial Racing victory! Because none of you can tell me he wasn’t celebrating there!
