Mauro Formica to sign for Blackburn Rovers?

It’s transfer deadline day in England, and with numerous things still up in the air it remains to be seen whether Blackburn Rovers really are going to secure the signature of Newell’s Old Boys’ playmaker Mauro Formica – whose move to Monaco collapsed on Friday – for a fee of €4.2 million. Any Blackburn fans (or anyone else, for that matter) wanting to read a little about the most drawn-out player exit of the Argentine summer, though, can do so here, in my latest piece for In Bed With Maradona.

One Response to Mauro Formica to sign for Blackburn Rovers?

  1. It’s an odd story, well told. Let’s hope Steve Kean was just experiencing a dizzy spell induced by one of the Big Sam’s by turns racy and vitriolic text messages, as it could turn out to be quite a delightful little signing. Then again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdoHfHC6sb0
