Clausura ’08: Round 15 fixtures

We’ve got a weekend full of derbies ahead. Colón and Newell’s aren’t in the same city but they are both in Santa Fé Province, so theirs is a sort of half-rivalry to get us warmed up for the main events. Saturday and Sunday have two clásicos each, the La Plata derby starting things off before Boca and Racing meet in a challengers-versus-strugglers clash. On Sunday, Huracán host San Lorenzo and Independiente play River. After all these have been played, the championship race might look a lot clearer. Or, perhaps, a lot more confusing still.

All kick off times are local. Add four hours for British Summer Time.

  1. Seba-the official Boca website indicates that Migliore will replace Caranta in goal today and that some guy I’ve never heard of (Sebastian Nayar) will be playing as a midfielder. They also said that Paletta is back but will play next to Roncaglia, which means Caceres is out as well (and probably Morel Rodriguez). No other info was provided, but I am guessing Roman won’t play and would wager that Palacio, if he plays, won’t be on the pitch for more than one period. Looks like an opportunity for Racing to steal three points to me.

  2. Well, Johnny. It is a great opportunity ON PAPER. The problem with Racing is that we need to beat Racing first and then think of beating our rivals. We are our main obstacle when it comes to get points, when it comes to score.

From what I’ve heard, the goalkeeper will be a kid called García (never heard of him before!).

Another youngster in action will be Ibañez (left back) and the only really experienced player they will use is Gracián. Maybe with the addition of Alvaro Gonzalez, Neri Cardozo and Gabriel Paletta.

But again…our problem nowadays is Racing and how can we beat Racing!

  3. Seba-after that match I am sure that their is nothing you or anybody else can do. Somebody put a hex on Racing this year.
