Nomination deadline passed

After having been extended by a couple of nights, the deadline for nominations for the HEGS Award for Best Argentine in a Foreign League has now passed, so please don’t send any more in. The nominations were more evenly spread than last year, but also more narrowly, so rather than five there will be just three players up for the award. The nominations in full will be announced on Thursday evening, and then the voting itself will begin to decide the winner.

Also, apologies but there won’t be a detailed – or prompt – match report on the Boca Juniors vs. Fluminense Copa Libertadores match tonight. The game will be finishing late enough in the UK that I’d be going to bed in daylight, and I’ve been a little under the weather this week. I’ll be doing my best to stay up to cover the decisive second leg and, of course, the final should Boca get there, in the manner you’re accustomed to. Needless to say, some sort of write-up will appear on Thursday, along with video of any goals from the match.

  1. Sam, mate, let me know if you want me to chip in and give you a hand in Boca v. Flu second leg. I’ll gladly help out.

Let me know if you would like me to write a report on tonight’s match.
