The 2008 HEGS reader survey

Another year, another survey. The 2007-2008 season was the first full one that HEGS covered, and at the grand old age of 17 months, I thought it was time for another survey of the site’s readers. Readership has trebled since February – and increased roughly eightfold since the last survey a year ago – so your responsed really would be appreciated, so I can keep the site going the right way in the next twelve months. If you’ve got any ideas to improve the site, or if you just want to tell me what a great job I’m doing (always appreciated!), read on.

Basically, I want any suggestions for more regular features you’d like to see on the site for the 2008-2009 season. I can’t promise to do everything (HEGS is a one-man operation, and I do have a day job as well),  but let me know all the same and I’ll get back to you. This is also a more general survey of who HEGS readers are, as well.

To that latter end, it would be great if you’d tell me just a little bit about yourself – for instance, where you’re reading the site from; how you came across it; how often you read, and (of course!) which Argentine team you support. Are you aware of the (admittedly not very regular) HEGS email newsletter? If not, you can subscribe by sending a blank email with ‘subscribe’ in the subject line to

I’m in Cuba at the moment, without regular internet access (this story is published on a ‘timer’, so the fact it’s gone online today doesn’t mean I’ve been online today!), but will be back on the 29th July and promise to reply to any emails sent in for the survey.

So, please get in touch. All correspondence should be sent to (the newsletter address is strictly for readers wishing to subscribe to that, please), with ‘HEGS survey’ in the subject line if you don’t mind. Looking forward to hearing from you!
