Apertura ’08: Round 4 fixtures

Time marches on, and thus arrives the fourth weekend of the Primera A 2008 Torneo Apertura. This weekend sees another clásico as River Plate welcome former player Santiago Solari back to Argentine soil – he’ll be stepping onto the pitch in San Lorenzo’s colours against his old club. Racing have a tricky assignment: they’re away to Argentinos, who haven’t lost in their own stadium for just over a year now. If it’s history looming over a fixture, though, pity Banfield – they visit Central, where they haven’t won since 1954, 31 matches ago…

All kick off times are local. Add four hours for British Summer Time.

  1. Very annoying, AFA *always* change the order of fixtures from that announced the previous weekend in the papers. Having both Rosario clubs playing at the same time is irritating, I wanted to see both matches.

I think Banfield might win at Central, theire wide players are in good form, and they were unlucky last time, taking the lead and looking the better side. Sheer will power and their frightening promedio propelled Central to win in the end.
