Copa Sudamericana: San Luís de Potosí 2 – 1 Argentinos Juniors

Argentinos had a tricky away assignment on Wednesday night, at altitude in Mexico, and compounded the situation by playing pretty poorly for much of the match. San Luís controlled the game for the most part, and put themselves into a two goal lead before half time thanks to goals from Braulio Luna and Tressor Moreno. In the second half Argentinos improved, and came out more. They were, perhaps, a little fortunate that the hosts didn’t capitalise on some of the space left behind the Bicho backline, and were given a helping hand when, in the 73rd minute, Ignacio Torres was sent off for a hard foul near the halfway line. Four minutes later, Argentinos’ lifeline arrived – Nicolás Pavlovich cut in from the right touchline and scored a fine goal to open the tie right up. Everything to play for back at La Paternal next Wednesday.
