Clausura ’09: Round 11 fixtures

The eleventh round of the 2009 Torneo Clausura pitches two of the title contenders against each other in Santa Fe – the winner of Colón vs Vélez will finish the weekend on top of the table (unless it’s Colón and Lanús do something unspeakable to Godoy Cruz in Mendoza). Argentinos boss Claudio Vivas is playing for his job against Independiente, and Racing’s fans will be travelling to the Nuevo Gasómetro with their opponents’ new manager at the forefront of their minds…

All kick off times are local. Add four hours for British Summer Time.

  1. Terrible news that Boca will be playing with suplentes in Rosario to prepare for their Libertadores game. Why not give Central the three points now? It really irritates me when teams do this, it completely skewers the league. I only hope Racing have the good fortune to meet a reserve Boca side… oh, er, we did? Oh yes, Ricardo Noir, I remember him… : (
Well, hopefully Boca’s pibes can compete well in Rosario, but I have my doubts.
Just had a heart attack, Canio has had a goal disallowed for SMT. Vamos Ar-Se-Nal!

    1. fair play to you puttin that post up. I didint reailse that boca were putting out a second string and obviously the bookies over here didnt either. won a few quid. I’ll get u a pint the next time i see you!!!

      1. Ha ha Murt, you and me both. Put £125 on Central, got £315 back. WillHill had Boca as favourites!!
It’s like a cashpoint when this happens, but I’d still rather it didn’t.

    2. I was gutted watching that masquerade, as a bostero i find it disrespectful to the game and the fans. Ischia always tinkers needlessly with the squad, i cant remember the last time he played the same CB tandem 2 games in a row: who rests CBs???

  2. I agree with Abel.

If Boca don’t win the Libertadores, the Bianchi watch will be in full swing. You got to believe Ischia might feel this is the case as well, which would account for his playing everybody and the water boy against Rosario Central.

So how much of a suspension will Gimnasia’s keeper get for hitting that little River shit with a fast ball from about 6 feet ?:)
