Torneo Apertura 2009: Round 2 goals

Largely thanks to the efforts of River Plate, Chacarita Juniors, Independiente, Vélez Sársfield and Estudiantes, there were 33 goals in the Argentine Primera División Torneo Apertura during the weekend just gone. You can watch all of them right here on this post, since the normal TN Sportblog link for some reason doesn’t include any of the goals from Sunday’s matches. If you don’t know which teams wear which coloured shirts, read on in this post as ever for the running order…

This video is captioned with the matches and scores of each game as it pops up, but one or two of the captions don’t show in quite the right place (River vs Chacarita is mistakenly titled as Argentinos vs Banfield for a brief moment), and the final match isn’t titled at all – so to save confusion, and out of habit, here are the matches as they happen in the video below:

Running order for Show de Goles:
Tigre (white) vs Central (yellow)
Racing (sky blue & white stripes) vs Colón (red & black halves)
Vélez (white, navy ‘V’) vs Arsenal (white with black and some sort of orangey-rusty-coloured trim)
Estudiantes (red & white stripes) vs Gimnasia LP (white & navy)
Argentinos (red, white sash) vs Banfield (black, green sash)
Godoy Cruz (white, blue sleeves) vs San Lorenzo (red & navy stripes)
River (white, red sash) vs Chacarita (red, black & white stripes)
Atlético de Tucumán (sky blue & white stripes) vs Independiente (red)
Lanús (maroon) vs Boca (navy & gold)
Newell’s (black & red halves) vs Huracán (white)

Also, as everyone has no doubt noticed by the time they read this, the song used on this video is not ‘Please Please Me’, but ‘I Saw Her Standing There’. It’s La Nación’s fault, the video is ripped from their new sports website.
