Going Loco

As you may be aware, Argentina play Brazil later on Saturday (kick off at 21:30 local time, 01:30 Sunday morning UK time) in a qualifying match for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Brazil don’t need to win but Argentina, if they’re going to keep alive realistic hopes of qualifying automatically, have to. They’ve only lost one home World Cup qualifier in their history, and to help preserve that proud record Diego Maradona turned to a surprising squad addition on Monday, and I’ve been writing about it. You can read about the reaction to Martín Palermo’s inclusion in the squad on Soccernet, by clicking this link.

  1. As a Boca fan, a fan of Palermo and a fan of the NT, I would like nothing better than to see Argentina somehow beat Brazil and Paraguay, and The Titan score a goal. It doesn’t look like he will get any time on the pitch against Brazil, though maybe that will change against Paraguay (where he would be set up in front of Boca teammates Caceres and Morel Rodriguez.). Go Loco !
