This is probably the shortest Argentines Abroad update you’re ever likely to read, but after leaving it for such a long time before last week I’m eager not to break the habit. Also, with so few leagues playing during the recent international break, Our Man In Mexico, Tom Clark, has effectively written it for me anyway. So, take it away Tom.
The weekend action in Mexico during this round of international play was limited to three matches, all makeups from earlier postponements. Of the three, Argentines played a role in one: San Luis’s 2-1 home win over Atlante. The Gladiadores‘ first goal came from a lovely floated ball into the box from Eduardo ‘Chacho‘ Coudet which was driven home on the volley by Alfredo ‘Chango‘ Moreno. The goal left Moreno with six in the current torneo, still four off the leader, Emanuel ‘Tito‘ Villa of Cruz Azul.
Moreno’s goal is the first in this clip.
All that remains for me to add to Tom’s Mexican summary is mention of Andrés D’Alessandro’s goal for Internacional de Porto Alegre, which put them 2-1 up against Náutico on the stroke of half time last Wednesday, in the Brazilian Serie A. El Cabezón‘s side eventually won 3-1.
