One fixture will dominate the weekend in Argentina in terms of the international attention, but although it probably pushes Liverpool vs Manchester United into second place on the list of Really Big Rivalries in the football world this weekend, River Plate vs Boca Juniors won’t mean anything at either end of the table this time. With just two points separating first from eighth, a fair few of the games do mean something though. Estudiantes get us started at home to Atlético Tucumán, the pick of Saturday’s matches could well be Vélez vs Newell’s, and then Sunday’s final game sees second visit first as Colón host San Lorenzo. Now who says the superclásico is Argentina’s biggest game?
All kick off times are local. Add four hours for British Summer Time. UK readers note that we move our clocks back one hour on Saturday night; kick off times for Sunday’s matches will be three hours ahead of the listings here (Greenwich Mean Time). This means River vs Boca will kick off at 7:15pm.
