Colón have failed to make it through to the group stage of the 2010 Copa Libertadores, losing out to Chile’s Universidad Católica penalties after a 5-5 aggregate draw. Meanwhile some of the groups are already underway, and Lanús played their first match in the competition proper on Tuesday evening. They didn’t appear to have learned from last year’s Copa campaign, and lost 2-0 thanks to two defensive howlers at home to Paraguay’s Libertad, who may well go far in this year’s competition. You can watch all the goals from both games right here.
Universidad Católica (CHI) 3 – 2 Colón (U. Católica win 5-3 on penalties after a 5-5 aggregate draw)
Group 3: Lanús 0 – 2 Libertad (PAR)
