In Thursday evening’s clásico, River Plate beat San Lorenzo to record their first win since the second round, thanks to a finish from teenager Facundo Affranchino with quarter of an hour remaining. Banfield beat Colón 3-1 with Rubén Ramírez hitting two fine goals, Gimnasia won away to Chacarita Juniors and Atlético Tucumán vs Newell’s finished all square. Referees must be wishing every round could be played in midweek; after loads of sendings-off last weekend, there wasn’t one red card in this round. All the midweek scores and scorers are right here. I’ll have the goal videos from Wednesday’s and Thursday’s matches up on Friday night – the eighth round of the Torneo Clausura kicks off on Saturday.

You can follow the Clausura and the Argentine sides in the 2010 Copa Libertadores via HEGS on Twitter (including updates during and between matches and similar stories that might not go up on the site until later). I’m slowly gaining followers, but if you’ve not signed up yet you can do so here.
If River keep this up, fans will expect them to win a game every single month.
Why is Rubén Ramírez suddenly looking like the complete striker when in a Racing shirt he looked like a complete loser?
