Copa Libertadores 2010: Internacional take the initiative

In the first leg of the quarter-final between defending Copa champions Estudiantes de La Plata and Internacional, the Brazilian club who won the competition in 2006, it was the Brazilians who took a lead to head into the second leg with after pinning Estudiantes back for much of the match. It looked, almost all the way through, like Estudiantes were going to hold out and take a 0-0 score back to Quilmes for the second leg next week, but towards the end Uruguayan defender Gonzalo Sorondo got his head to a free kick to make the job just a little harder for Estudiantes. You can watch the highlights right here.

Copa Libertadores 2010, quarter-final first leg, Thurs 13th May:

Internacional (BRA) 1 – 0 Estudiantes de La Plata
