Vélez Sarsfield beat River Plate 2-1 in Sunday’s big clash to leave Ángel Cappa’s side off the pace in the title race, and (for the first time this season) in the direct relegation spots of the Promedio to boot. Vélez thus join Arsenal at the top of the table, with San Lorenzo a point behind following Saturday’s win over Boca Juniors. Elsewhere on Sunday, Lanús beat Gimnasia 2-0 away, Tigre and Banfield drew 1-1, and Huracán beat Quilmes 2-1 in Quilmes. River are second from bottom in the Tabla del Descenso – Promedios. Do I need to worry?
well, the handbook on Descenso has a section describing how to read other team’s results dependant to your own team success. At this point it looks like one established team and one promoted team as most likely to drop. El lobo is dire need of results too as they can’t score. Quilmes can’t finish a game.
Still alot of games though
