
Independiente advanced to the first round proper of the 2010 Copa Sudamericana with a 1-1 draw in the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona which contributed to a 2-1 aggregate victory over Argentinos Juniors for El Rojo. Néstor Ortigoza levelled on aggregate for Argentinos from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute, but former Boca Juniors playmaker Leandro Gracián’s goal in the 65th minute made it 1-1 on the night and 2-1 on aggregate for Independiente.
