Champions Argentinos Juniors are still without a win this season after throwing away a lead at home for the second time in this Torneo Apertura. This time the beneficiaries were Newell’s Old Boys, the rosarinos scoring twice in quick succession in the second half to win 2-1. Independiente and Quilmes fought out a goalless draw in Avellaneda, but elsewhere Boca beat Olimpo in Bahía Blanca to give Claudio Borghi some breathing space and Rogelio Funes Mori, who should have scored at least four goals, eventually managed the only strike of the game against Arsenal de Sarandí, heading in a corner to send River Plate back to the (joint) top of the table, and out of the relegation places in the promedio. wow grt videos!!! keep up the good work man!!!
Is there hope for Boca ?! Some glimmers yesterday. Viatri (responding to Johnny’s opinion that Mouche deserved to start) had one of his best matches ever. Scorching goal, played hard for 90 and with fewer errors. Canate looked dangerous after coming on and maybe he is getting fit. Escudero had by far his best match, digging on defense and moving the ball up the left side. Battaglia is Battaglia. And, of course, The Titan, with a goal for 2-1 and an assist for 3-1.
Would it be too much to ask for a victory against Esteban Fuertes and the Colon pretenders next weekend ? Up to 10 points and back in the mix ?
