This weekend, we still have no clásicos but there are a number of tasty ties all the same. Independiente will take a caretaker manager into their Friday night tie with Gimnasia; Nery Pumpido has admitted he’ll probably sign, but surely if he does so on Friday he won’t take charge of the match that night. Colón have a new manager, Fernando Gamboa, but he’ll be watching from the stands when the host San Lorenzo, and will take charge officially on Monday. Huracán, meanwhile, will on Sunday host Godoy Cruz, with Miguel Ángel Brindisi managing his first match back in charge of the club where he’s a playing legend. Elsewhere Estudiantes are at home to Boca, Banfield visit champions Argentinos Juniors, and I’ll be at River Plate vs Quilmes.
