Independiente lost 1-0 away to Defensor Sporting in the round of 16 in the 2010 Copa Sudamericana after a dull match away to Uruguay’s Defensor Sporting in Montevideo’s historic Estadio Centenario. The only goal of the game came from El Rojo’s former Boca Juniors playmaker Leandro Gracián, but it was put into his own team’s net, in the 65th minute, and thus the orientales have a narrow advantage to take to Avellaneda.
