Navarro celebrates

Former Racing goalkeeper Hilario Navarro was the man of the match in Saturday afternoon’s clásico de Avellaneda, which was won 1-0 by Independiente after Racing had just the better of a nervy first half. Later in the day Vélez Sarsfield thumped new Independiente boss Antonio Mohamed’s old club Colón 6-0 in Liniers to move back to five points behind leaders Estudiantes. Boca Juniors rounded off the day with a 2-1 win away to Tigre. You can watch all of Sunday’s goals right here, as usual.

  1. Johnny’s Boca Update:

Boca 2 Tigre 1. Boca’s first victory in Victoria since 1958 ?! Did I hear that right ? Three points and no talk about Bichi hitting the road. Roman due back for the next match against Huracan at the Bombonera. Followed by Independiente, Argentinos Juniors and then River November 7. A special date-the birthday of yours truly and The Titan.
