Saturday saw All Boys claim another win that will live long in their fans’ memories. Having already beaten Boca Juniors and Estudiantes this season, they dispatched an admittedly out of sorts Independiente (who, nonetheless, are still Independiente) 3-1 in Floresta with goals from Jonathan Ferrari, Juan Pablo Rodríguez Conde and, after Facundo Parra pulled one back for El Rojo right before half time, got a third from Carlos Casteglione from a hilarious poorly defended corner three minutes into the second half. Independiente have conceded 19 goals in this Apertura – more than anyone else bar Colón, who are level with them. Elsewhere yesterday Arsenal de Sarandí beat Gimnasia 3-2 away in a thriller, Banfield and Newell’s drew without any goals, and Estudiantes threw away their chance to go five points clear again, only drawing away to Colón 1-1. You can watch all the goals (and highlights of Banfield vs Newell’s) right here.
Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata 2 – 3 Arsenal de Sarandí
All Boys 3 – 1 Independiente
Colón 1 – 1 Estudiantes de La Plata
Banfield 0 – 0 Newell’s Old Boys
