Copa Sudamericana: Newell’s go out to Liga

Wednesday night saw Newell’s Old Boys travel to the altitude of Quito to take on Copa Sudamericana holders Liga de Quito, who beat them 1-0 with a great finish from Walter Calderón with ten minutes to go. Having drawn the first leg in Rosario 0-0 last week, Newell’s thus exit the Copa with a 1-0 aggregate loss, whilst the Ecuadorian holders advance to the semi-finals. You can see the goal right here.
