Riquelme’s return in time for the superclásico

To begin the superclásico previews this weekend, I’ve written a piece for ESPN Soccernet looking at the return of Juan Román Riquelme to competitive action for Boca Juniors last weekend, and what it might mean for his side when they visit River Plate on Tuesday. The other big issues surrounding the game, such as both side’s slump in power and the managerial uncertainty at both clubs, are also considered. You can read it here. Over the weekend, also keep an ear open for the brand new Hand Of Pod podcast, which I’ll be running with Dan Colasimone from Argentina Football World and Dan Edwards of Goal.com.

You can follow the daily ins and outs during the 2010 Apertura, as well Argentine clubs in the Copa Sudamericana, the country’s vast foreign legion and the latest news from the selección during the 2010-2011 season direct from Buenos Aires with HEGS on Twitter. If you’ve not signed up yet you can do so here. You can also join the official HEGS Facebook group, to keep up to date with the latest posts on the blog and discuss things with other fans. You’ll find it here.
