New boys both win, and all the scores and scorers

On Thursday, the penultimate round of the 2010 Torneo Apertura concluded with wins for both Olimpo – now unbeaten in five games, into the bargain – and Quilmes. The latter beat San Lorenzo 1-0 and, with Ramón Díaz one of the favourites along with Marcelo Bielsa and Alejandro Sabella to take over River Plate when J.J. López stands down after the Apertura (as he confirmed on Thursday morning he would), the boss’s future at his current employers doesn’t look clear. Elsewhere on Thursday Banfield and Boca Juniors played out an eventful if not thrilling 0-0 draw, and Argentinos Juniors lost 1-2 at home to Lanús. All the highlights, plus the midweek scores and scorers, are right here.
