New Year Honours

Happy new year to all HEGS readers! 2011 has now arrived in England. I’ll be back to posting regularly before long, don’t worry. At the start of 2011, though (this post will show up as having been published on the 31st December 2010, because I’ve kept my timezone as Buenos Aires for the six weeks I’m in England), it’s an honour for me to say that Hasta El Gol Siempre has been named as one of 100 must-read football blogs for 2011 by none other than British newspaper The Guardian in this post on the last day of 2010. If you’re new to HEGS as a result of that link, please stick around. It’s midsummer in Argentina and I’m on holiday in England at present, but rest assured this site gets much more interesting during the season. Well, a bit more interesting anyway. And huge thanks to James Dart and others at The Guardian for considering me worth the plug.

You can follow the ins and outs during the summer break, as well Argentina’s performances in the Sudamericano Sub 20 in January, the country’s vast foreign legion and the latest news from the selección during the 2010-2011 season direct from Buenos Aires with HEGS on Twitter. If you’ve not signed up yet you can do so here. You can also join the official HEGS Facebook group, to keep up to date with the latest posts on the blog and discuss things with other fans. You’ll find it here. Also remember to bookmark Hand Of Pod, our home to a brand new Argentine football podcast (or subscribe to it on iTunes here)
