
Early Clausura leaders Olimpo fought out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Godoy Cruz in Bahía Blanca on Friday evening, with the hosts going into a 2-0 lead before falling 3-2 behind and grabbing an equaliser three minutes into stoppage time through Néstor Bareiro. In the later match, Ángel Cappa’s Gimnasia La Plata, with Guillermo Barros Schelotto on the pitch again, claimed their first win of the year, 3-1 away to Colón in Santa Fe. Ibáñez has lost his hands… He’s gone from high point to getting a local seleccion call-up to losing his starting 11 spot to being completely unable to handle balls. But, there was always signs of his poor handling skills, most of it was masked by tighter defense and fairly quick reflex and diving during the Clausura ’10 campaign.
Now just to think how much better the Apertura could of been if Torrico was in sooner.
