Vélez go top of Clausura, Argentinos out of the Libertadores (video)

This is around 20 hours late, but last night Vélez Sarsfield went top of the 2011 Torneo Clausura after winning their postponed match against San Lorenzo 2-0 in an empty Bombonera. Goals from Santiago Silva and Augusto Fernández sealed the win for the Liniers side. A little later, Argentinos Juniors crashed out of the Copa Libertadores after a 4-2 loss to Fluminense of Brazil. As Nacional and Club América could only draw in Montevideo, a point would have sent Argentinos through, but any hope of that was dashed when Flu were awarded an utterly incorrect penalty in stoppage time to make it 4-2; that goal saw Nacional eliminated on goal difference. The Brazilians go through along with América of Mexico. All the goals from both games are right here.
