Clausura: plenty of shock results tighten things up at the top (video)

Erik Lamela can't believe the chance he's just missed as River fall to Godoy Cruz

Saturday was a day of unexpected results in the 2011 Torneo Clausura. Not one home side managed to win in the five matches played, with Banfield, Colón, Quilmes and Godoy Cruz all winning away, and All Boys scoring twice in three minutes to claim a point at Independiente. League leaders Vélez Sarsfield suffered a major slip-up against Quilmes, who won only their second match of the year, after which River Plate – who would have thus overtaken Vélez at the top with a win – allowed Godoy Cruz to come from behind and win courtesy of a stonker from Mariano Donda. All the goals are right here.

Newell’s Old Boys 0 – 1 Banfield

Independiente 2 – 2 All Boys

Estudiantes de La Plata 0 – 2 Colón

Vélez Sarsfield 2 – 3 Quilmes

River Plate 1 – 2 Godoy Cruz
