Apertura 2011: Riquelme complains as Boca draw; Lanús beat San Lorenzo (video)

The first round of the 2011 Torneo Apertura didn’t end on Sunday (Independiente vs San Martín de San Juan won’t be played until the 7th September) but it closed for the time being with Boca Juniors frustrated at a 0-0 draw away to Olimpo de Bahía Blanca which had Juan Román Riquelme grumbling, ‘the pitch was bad… when the match can’t be won, you just have to make sure you don’t lose.’ Lanús beat San Lorenzo away, whilst Tigre v Racing and Newell’s v Estudiantes were also draws. The goals, as well as those from Saturday – including Godoy Cruz and Vélez Sarsfield’s 1-1 draw – are right here, along with all the weekend’s scores and scorers.

I’m thinking of going to the Boca v Union game tomorrow, the last time I went to the Bombonera I was able to queue up and get tickets on the morning of the game, does anyone know if this still the case? I’ve been reading the tourist “package deal tickets” are big business now, thus not many tickets go on general sale to the public nowadays.
