In the Superclásico de las Américas, Argentina’s domestic national team lost 2-0 to their Brazilian counterparts on Wednesday night in Belém, going down to a 2-0 aggregate loss. Lucas opened the scoring for Brazil, and Vélez Sarsfield defender Emiliano Papa scored an own goal for the second. In the Copa Sudamericana, Independiente lost 2-0 away as well, to Liga de Quito.
