Apertura: Independiente smile again; Unión and All Boys draw in relegation battle (video)

Independiente celebrate the first of their two goals against Godoy Cruz

Saturday’s matches in the Primera División saw mixed fortunes for Avellaneda’s two clubs. Independiente got a win to lift some of the gloom following the midweek Copa Sudamericana exit, and later on Racing drew 0-0 with San Martín de San Juan to drop points in their effort to stay in touch with Boca Juniors (who play on Sunday) at the top of the league. Unión and All Boys also drew, 1-1, in the relegation clash of the day. And at the top of the Nacional B, first-placed River Plate visited second-placed Instituto de Córdoba, and drew 0-0 in a match they had the better of. The goals from the matches that had them are right here, as well as highlights of that River game.

Independiente 2 – 1 Godoy Cruz

Unión de Santa Fe 1 – 1 All Boys

Instituto de Córdoba 0 – 0 River Plate
